Coal quality course

The 3-day, ALS Coal Quality Course is available to any person in the coal industry, but is focused on professionals interested in managing coal quality. The course provides an understanding of the importance of managing coal quality from exploration through mining, beneficiation, and transportation. It also provides an overview of the end use of coal in the steelmaking and power generation sectors, and the impact of coal quality on these processes.

The standard coal quality course

ALS provides the Coal Quality Course several times each year in a traditional face-to-face presentation format. There is a limit of fifteen participants allowing sufficient scope interactions and deeper understanding of the value of coal.

The coal quality course online

ALS provides the Coal Quality Course as a webinar to individual resource companies. The format is negotiated to suite time zones and availability of participants and presenters.

Tailored coal quality training

ALS provides tailored training to coal companies that do not required the full Coal Quality Course. Focused training may be focused on various coal quality topics including coal analyses designed to evaluate thermal or metallurgical coals, or on understand coal equations.
